The Mechanisms of Failure, made in 2016, is a series of sculptural sketches. My interest to explore movement through sculpture led me to research Kinetic Art and mechanisms of 1950's. Kinetic sculptures can be divided in two main categories. Firstly, by virtual movement, sculptures that aim to move and their construction has a goal, but in the end do not succeed. Secondly, sculptures that their movement occurs via illusion or actually move through their independent means. I prefer playing around these categories as I see them as un-functional tools, that suggest movement. Combining found materials wood and metal,I am introducing a new form of aesthetics and being accompanied by radical and illogical decisions thorough the making.
